    Probably a Stupid Computer (WMP) Question

    i've downloaded a few videos i'd like to watch but whenever i open them in windows media player it tries to download a codec (??) and then there is always an "error downloading codec"

    whats the story on this, better yet, how can i watch these videos?

      www.divx.com is probably going to solve your problems if you don't already have it.

      if not, post the entire filename.

        Get ready for a rollback if you install the DirectX files....I know that link is for the divx but they work in similar ways.

            Divx and DirectX aren't even close to the the same thing. Divx is a type of compression for movie files. DirectX is a graphics programming API that allows windows software to directly use the graphics hardware. DirectX won't do a single thing for his movie problem and he more than likely already has it installed.
            Sadly the mag is gone, moved on to an LCD Trix
