I'm going bald

I'm 21 and my hair is falling out. My head is really bumpy too, so it would look wierd if I just shave it all off. Any tips on coping with baldness?

Once it really starts to go, you gotta shave it. Combovers/fake hair just don't cut it...

You could look into plugs if its really bad, or maybe try one of those hair club for men/rogain kind of treatments. Talk to a doc (not sure what field).

Depends where you are losing it.

Rogaine is only for hair loss at the back of your scalp, it does nothing for receding hairlines.

The DHT-blocker stuff may work for the front.

Otherwise, shave it.

I feel your pain. I havn't quite gotten to the point where I'm going to shave it, but I'm tempted.

If you have noticed it then chances are that it is too late. There are various prescription treatments but they cost a lot and you have to use them for life and all they do is slow or in some extreme cases stop the loss.
Don't go the plug root (no pun intended) as it looks terrible the other thing I have seen is the dying of the head like an action man (GI Joe to the rest of you) The guy who had this done not only had an unnatural hairline it only looked good at a distance....as already said shave it off or have it real short and or bleach it white...not yellow but this has it's own drawbacks as you will have to keep getting the roots done and every so often you will have to let it grow out....just live with it. I do.

Well, my suggestion would be to just live with it. The shorter you keep the rest of your hair the less out of place the bald spots look.

i would shave my head anyway, and so by the time that u would have no hair every1 will be used to you having a shaved head... so you wont be known as having all your hair fallin out, but the guy with the shaved head.

I dont have the bald spot in the back of my head yet, it's just the hair in the front. I've had a receded hair line for a long time. Now, when I can pull handfulls of hair out of the front of my head without any effort. I have pretty short hair as it is. I think I'm just gonna keep getting it cut shorter every time I get a haircut till it dissapears. I considered using rogaine or something, but it's not in the budget, and I know I'd be to lazy.

from day one i knew i would be mostly bald. all the males in the family are. so for the last 5 years now i shave my head. might as well get people used to seeing it.

Hey, I went bald and so I shaved my head completely. It was the best thing I've ever done really since girls love it. I've attracted more women BECAUSE I was bald, so don't sweat it bro. Plus, it makes you look tougher since people always think bald guys are a little crazy (which we are). :)

Don't do the comb-over, and definitely don't go buy any chemical solutions. They work for very few people, and when they do work, they produce minimal results. Keep it real.
