    Explosive New Years

Ok well some of you may have read that I spend new years w/ my crazy uncle and my crazy family, burning things, a lot of things,

Well this year was a little different, my uncle is in the military, and for some reason a while back some one gave this crazy guy a box of tank simulation rounds(tank round minus the projectile), so he tells us he has some special fire works to light off. So he drives off into a field and works on something for a few minutes, and then he opens the hood of the truck he was driving and touches a wire to the battery and KABOOOMMM!!!! it was the loudest thing I have heard in my life it was really cool, well that was my explosive new years

HA! Those are called "Hoffman Devices". So Tanks can fire and maneuver during training, a large 9 hole device is attached to the barrel, the Hoffmans are inserted into the holes and wired into the fire control system. When the gunner hits the real triggers, a single Hoffman fires.

I've wired a dozens of these together in a diasy chain many times to simulate an artillery strike. I bury them about 6" underground so they blow dirt and grass sky high. I've even wired them together into a single blast that just rocks the world! We booby trapped a latrine once, when the dang Infantry pukes kept using ours instead of digging their own; they didn't come back after that, can you say "eewwww shtinky boy"!

Ever take a firecracker apart and see the little pinch of flashpowder inside? Well, Hoffmans have enough to fill a 35mm film canister and is fired electrically with as little as 9 volts.
