What Kev said. I recommend finding a DHTML version if possible. Java uses mad resources and is glitchy as all get out. Check out www.dynamicdrive.com they have a plethora of awesome DHTML scripts including navbars like what you are looking into.Originally posted by Kevmasterim guessing that those require DHTML and JavaScript...something Dreamweaver won't do. Searhc for "CoolMenu" on google and see if you can get the site for people who give away scripts with that stuff in there. copy and past into dreamweaver

Ok, with the help of dreamweaver, a tempelate, and an *Enourmous* amount of work, I have compiled an advanced website.
Webs.com has been shut down on the 31st of August 2023. Find out what that means for your site and how to move it to another provider.
ooo yeah
So far ive got two tabs done.
Now i need to figure out how to make a custom configurator like cyberpower..

you can also try using DHTML Menu maker. go here for more info:
as far as what others are saying for site design dreamweaver, MX 2004 hands down. I started off in notepad, was against using dreamweaver, then gave in to the darkside.
site that i built using dreamweaver: www.scarecrowhill.net nothing too flashy.Comment

Can someone help me with working with an image in dreamweaver? When I try and move it around, it wont let me put it where I want, it has to be aligned with the edge for some reason...is there anyway to turn this off?

There's no way to simply drag an image to where you want it on the page w/o using some forum of layout.
Switch into layout mode and draw up a layout table and slice it accordingly to where you'd like your image located.

I dislike WYSIWYG editors very much. My webdesign professor tried to force me to use it... "Why, when I can write objective Perl?" He didn't like me very much - I got a D in that class... even though my webpage was selected by English staff to replace the department webpage. He never used it... probably because I gave him CGI scripts that relied on content on my webserver.
My work disappeared immediately after the course ended... an FU basically.Last edited by Miscue; 09-23-2004, 10:23 PM.

WYSIWYG editors are very handy i think. They do have their pitfalls (lack of accuracy, miscalculations) and you do need to know how to hand code the stuff into the right place at times to get it to work. They also don't support PHP/CGI/ASP as well as they could. BUT, that said, they do make the work of a webdesigner much easier. I know how to make the site I own, but Making each table inside a table and getting the colspans and rowspans correct, to me, is an utter nightmare. Dreamweaver makes that all go away now,a nd all i have to do is fix its little imperfections.
It could be better, but I still think its better than notepad, although i respect notepad and still know how to use it through brute force
(excuse the post stuff,im a wee bit tipsy as of now)Comment
