No.. this is totaly BS.... You don't know your poultry industry at all.

A normal Fryer sized chicken takes about 6 1/2 to 7 weeks to grow to market size of 2 1/2 pounds. Geneticaly Bred to do so. Broiler Fryers are a specific hybrid cross. Bred for this super fast growth. In fact if they are grown out to about 12 Weeks they call them Roasters and are about 3 1/2 pounds. After that their groth rate is so fast they develop leg problems. So they cannot be kept much older. Specific parent lines of Female (Broiler egg layers) and a seperate Genetic paternal line are raised just to do this cross breeding for Broiler Fryer production.

Now laying hens is totaly different genetic strain. Small light and produce a lot of large eggs while consuming a small amount of feed. And easily manipulated into laying by light manipulation. All geneticly selected and bred for. Totaly different strains of chickens than the ones for meat production are used for that.

THey are indeed given small amounts of antibiotics. All of them. No matter where you get em. But they are no different from Fast Food places or the Grocery store. They all are produced by Growers and bought under contract.

How the chicken is prepared at the particular place may differ. And its about Time McDonalds actualy started serving identifiable chicken parts.

Another amazing chicken fact.... a Broiler Chicken takes about 1.5 pounds of Food in to produce 1.0 Pounds of Meat. Very efficient conversion.

Similar to a "yard bird" would do if it was picking at vegitation running around outside. This was a marketing ploy that worked. Frank Purdue was a very smart marketing man. He convinced all the Housewives of the day that these birds were superior in flavor and quality because thier fat was more yellowish much like a free range bird would be. They bought it. And he made millions. In fact there is no nutritional benefit at all. But no one ever questioned it and his marketing plan worked. Still does even today. Purdue is a leader in Poultry Production still to this day because of this maketing idea. And they still feed Marigold mix to their Fryer/Broilers.
