ack!!! my freakin computer wont turn on at all

i pulled my computer (dell) appart because i bought a new case for it (ATX). However when attempting to put the mother board in i realized that a couple screw holes didn't quite line up. So rather than jerry-rigging i just figured i'd buy a new mother board in a week or so. So in the mean time i would just put my old computer back together. however, when i did the stupid thing wont turn on. The only indication that the computer is in fact getting power is the one green led on the board.

i made sure not to use a magnetic screw driver and to touch the side of the case every time before diving into the case itself in order to get rid of any static charge.

i have double and tripple checked the quick disconect wire plugs to make sure everything is pluged in where it is supposed to be and so far so good.

I even replaced the power supply with the new supply with my new case

i don't know what else to do....????

Did you build the pc in the first place? The reason for asking is that many motherboards manuals lie when it comes to the power connection config...I build one a while ago that the reset button would not work but everything else did but the config I had to use bore no resemblance to the mother board manual. To this end I put a sticker inside the case with the now correct config so if anyone every changed things the correct config was there to see and I changed the page in the motherboard manual too. If you were not the person to build the pc you would have no way of knowing if they used a different config to what the manual says. Simliar problem I had once with a car engine with the HT leads 180 degrees reversed from the manual. S for the future whenever I work on a car or PC I write down what comes off from where (cables) knowing that these parts could cause the rest not to work.
