I also, would bring spot lights and a jackhammer, to make digging out the cave easier. Im going to have trouble sleeping....
The point was that they didn't have enough room to bring a massive amount of gear. Such is why they left most of their gear at the time.
A Jackhammer? That wouldn't mess up the Cave at all. It could cause a collapse of the ceiling and what not.

        wow, good story.

the ending is too "blair witch", ruins it. makes it fake, just "cya soon with good stories" and finito....much more real than the fake link.

Lol, I really dont know much about caving. Im just saying that you never know what coukd be down there. You could be crawing through tunnels, and come to a bear cave or something similar, and not have any way to defend yourself.

Right, and a bear would live underground in a cave-room, which is only connected to the surface by an intricate set of tight tunnels.. and its pitch-black.

            Agreed.

            Unicorns are people too ...
Old Narhwals are people too ...
Grizzly Bears are people too ...
            Caterpillars are people too ...
Baby Peacocks are people too ...

Some caves have 2 entrances which means you could go through narrow underground tunnels and end up in a lighted area big enough and close enough to the outside for a bear.

                I WANT CLOSURE! CLOSURE DAMNIT!

Btw, most of the story works....minus the cave demon. But then again, I really wanna go caving in a demon cave. And yes, I have been caving many times before.

                    Damn. Damn. DAMN.

I SO wanted that whole thing to be real. After the second page I kept thinking, "I hope this doesn't turn out to be fiction, no matter what the outcome." Ain't that about a *****? It was a great story, and it really held my attention, but I liked the idea of something like that being possible. I had an explanation for the diagram and I wanted a detailed description of what the hell was in those passages.

I'm pissed. I feel cheated, but glad I took the time to go over the whole thing.

                    Good read.

one thing that makes this story work so well is that he never actually sees the creature/monster. so it just lets your imagination run wild.

Did you guys notice that the images are hosted on a different site?

I went to the images directory and you get this (look at the file dates):

But, then I went to the root domain...

                        Interesting...eh?

.....? Oh, I'm sorry, I was waiting for the point.

..We all read the story, so uhm... yea...the round rock does move... Great contribution, 1ofkind. :)

Good read, but I really did have some better things to do right now. But it's obviusly a fake. I mean the bears thing made sense until the end, when the rope was getting sucked into the cave. Plus I don't think bears have the presence of mind to open and close the "door" when they come and go. And if it's not a bear, what is it? Golem or something? There's practically no ecosystem down there (although possibly beyond the round rock, which begs more questions such as why does the rock stop it all) and hence nothing can live down there. It was a good read though, and I'm glad I did, but I wish it was at some time when I was bored or something. Little too stereotypical to be real, but still would be cool to have a little closure here :)
