Cost to have a one page .com site made

How much do you think it would cost to have a one page .com site made, for my products? Nothing will be sold, it will just be an information site, and the website adress wiill go on my business cards and stickers.

    Thanks

Domain costs and hosting costs are two totally different things. Just do a web search, costs vary quite a bit depending on what you want, and how much of it you want.

Provided its basic, you should be able to do the design yourself.

Limiting it to one page won't really help in terms of bandwith and hosting costs, as one page isn't very much info. Google for ISPs, you'll probably be interested in one of the bargain packages that will include some basic webeditting programs, hosting, and some email ids.

I'd plan on paying from 10-25 a month for everything.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

Can anyone give me some links to some sites where I can get more info on this, or even purchase domain names?

Slipknot... You can easily get a one page website with a domain for under 40 bucks a year..
But considering for such little amount more, I would recomend www.fuitadnet.com which I use for my website.

domain names don't work exactly the way you might think. Oftentimes, your "real" (as in computer 2 computer) address is part of your ISP. When you register with them, you can (hopefully) pick the name you want, and when users type it in, voila.

As for providers; if you have SBC hi-speed DSL, you've already got everything you need. Many other broadband providers provide you with tools to host your own personal website.

In fact, I think you may be overkilling this by purchasing hosting. It doesn't sound like you're planning on lots of traffic, so I would look into a free webserver. There are plenty out there.

            Google: free website hosting

            1st link: Bravenet.com

            FREE Hosting Package

            500 MB of bandwidth*

            20 MB disk space

            Free Web-Based FTP

            Your own subdomain:
            you.bravehost.com

Advertising supported: This may be a concern. they will place pop-ups/unders as well as banner ads to users. They may also gather information on your visitors to resell to advertisers.

            Second Package:
            Basic Hosting Package

            10 GB of bandwidth*

            200 MB disk space

            10 email accounts

            FREE domain name**

            20 sub domains

            500+Site Templates FREE

            NO ADS!

            NO SETUP FEE!

            From: $4.95/mo

There ya go. Most ISP's will have similar style plans; free w/ads, limited, medium, and high-use (zman).

I've been using these guys for a while. Mostly to store files.

The page you are looking for doesn't exist or has been moved.

Thats what I use, they have amazing prices. I pay like 30 bucks a year and get 10 gigs per month of rollover bandwith, and 500 mb of storage, which is more than what you need.

They also have AMAZING customer service. You can even talk to them over AIM, and they are very friendly
I couldn't be more pleased with them. In fact, I wrote a testimonial for them that is on the testimonial page

I think Go Daddy will do simple 1 page hosting fairly cheap.

Edit: Bah, tMan beat me to it. I guess I should read the whole thread before I reply.

If you want I own a webserver (I host about 8 sites off it right now cause I just bought it a while ago) and if you literally dont want to do anything but a few images and your 1 page I can give ya a really low cost deal or something since you're not needing much.

Its a dedicated webserver w/ CPANEL for all my clients, hosted in a data center w/ an OC12 line going into it, linux, etc.

learn a little unix(i mean a real little), some html and get a free shell account. they do still exist. put up your own page pop up free. you will only have to pay for your .com name or get a dyndns. you can get 2 megs free with no pop ups on arbornet.org. that will do a few pages with modest pictures easily.

I haven't posted on here in ages but... the best that I have seen and used myself is Hostway.com. They are not expensive and you get total control of your site. They have great 24/7 customer service. I sent them an e-mail with a question at 10 at night once and an hour later I had a response with the answer, not an auto responce. Check them out.
