It happened again... bad luck Dave!

Seriously. About a year ago this happened, and it happened again. My car was broken into and is "totaled".

Last year someone stole my truck, destroyed the interior and ignition and stole the stereo before dumping it at a Circle K.

This time someone broke into my Eclipse (it was a POS old one) in a DIFFERENT apartment complex (I've moved twice... this is in the VERY nice part of town) and stole my stereo and again destroyed my car... but this time not the interior.

I walk up to my car yesterday... put the key in the door and sit down inside (I didn't pay attention to if the key clicked cause I didn't expect anything). look down and the stereo has been ripped out and is gone. That sucks... but eh, it wasn't a big deal only an 80 dollar POS stereo. Try to start the car... dead. I was running late for work so I ran back up and had the gf take me to work.

Go back down to the car today and open the hood figuring they probably disconnected the battery... well they did. But they decided to disconnect the battery they were going to cut the battery cable and random other cables in the engine and take the battery while they were at it. So I have an engine full of cut cables, no battery, a stolen stereo and my insurance wont touch it cause its not "full coverage".

    This sucks.

If anyone has a car they're selling and can take payments (300 or so a month) I'd be willing to do something...lol. This is rediculous. I cant afford a FULL car loan plus FULL insurance on another vehicle.

Sad day. At least I Have my GBA SP to keep me company at work today.

Just go to work with a wire striper, some solder, and heatshrink tubeing and it will be good as new in an hour.

Nope. For some of it I'm sure it would work.

But they one major issue is when they cut the battery cable they apparently left the main pieces ON the battery cause they cut the cables back about 10" each. The ground cable is all the way to the bolt holding it into the frame, and the "power" cable is cut back about 10".

So is this still the Eclipse they broke into?. That really does suck. What year Eclipse is it anyway. Man you need to round up some shirt ninjas to take care of the problem .

Battery cable ends are about $1 each * 2 is $2 for those. Some wire might cost you a whole $3. Car destoryed over $5 in parts?

You're talking to someone who only knows the basics ... I have NO knowledge of whats needed to replace cabling in the engine...lol.

If I can do it myself that'd be awsome, but I'm pretty slow on cars. Computers, stereo's, etc I can do.

Find a buddy that does cars and ask for help. You can offer to help with all the stuff you're good at. Or just buy 'em a few beers. Solves any restitution issue.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

don't you love when you get that feeling when you feel like God doesn't want you to have something or do something?

It might end up being good luck. The whole "working in mysterious ways" thing. not sure though.

Someone I know apparently has been trying to sell their car to no avail (really common car, hard to sell unless you bottomline price it) and wants to try to work out something to benefit us both. Obviously since ist like buying a used card I'm taking his vehicle to a shop to have it checked out, but if it works out it would be awsome.

                  We'll see.
