I has stopped my caffeine intake...

I am following up with a New Year's Resolution to reduce/quit caffeine. It's been 2 days now and I am feeling the effects. Need caffeine... Need caffeine... Need caffeine... this sucks. :)

i was caffeine free for a while then i started drinking tea again. the affects were very adverse, but after a while it hardly affects me anymore. i still won't drink coffee though, that would just throw my whole system out of whack.

I picked my coffee habit back up. But it's only to compensate for not smoking anymore.

            Miscue,
Good job! What was your source of caffeine? Soda, Coffee? If it is the former of those 2, then that was an excellent choice! Not only will you feel better, you will lose weight -

Arman...not exactly, caffeine actually helps keep weight off because it speeds up your system and your metabolism as well making you burn calories faster. Its the same thing with smoking, people who stop smoking usually gain 10-50 pounds after they stop smoking for many different reasons, but back to caffeine....he will probably end up gaining some weight

Code Red! And various other sodas. The last thing I need is to lose weight! I had a 6 month period where I stayed away from caffeine about 2 years ago... I remember all the extra energy I had, I'm going to try for that again.

I quit caffiene. Realized it was dumb. Then I went back to it. I'm a happier and wiser man now.

I quit smoking. Twice now. This time isn't as bad as the last. Now I'm a more vicious and brutal man.

Since I quit smoking, alcohol went with it. A beer isn't the same without a smoke. I tried drinking two beers at once to compensate, but then people started to talk.

I once went on a diet. That was even more dumb than skipping caffiene. I won't do that ever again.

Excellent!! Limiting the caffeine intake will definitly be a benefit and your body will thank you. But remember, caffeine itself is not "evil". The occasional cup of coffee/soda etc. is not bad, its just when that makes up 99% of your fluid intake throughout the day, THEN you have a problem. Remember, 6 to 8 cups of water (8 to 12 for athletes) a day and maybe 1 soda or cup of coffee, and your all good. Bodybuilders will make 1 STRONG cup of coffee before they go workout and drink it down, black, just for a liquid caffeine spike! There have been numerouse studies done by bodybuilding supplement companies and they show the results as being encourageing. I drink water all day, every day and rarely have a soda or coffee (although I LOVE coffee!), my parents have an espresso machine and a coffee grinder right here in the house, we brew starbucks! :) Christmas night I had 6 espressos! HAHA!! I was bouncing off the walls! lol

                      ThePatriot,
If you read my post carefully - you will see that I said the former of the two, which meant the Soda. I never said that the caffiene had anything to do with weight loss, I was referring to the sugar in the Soda. Not only will you feel cleaner(at least I do) when you cut down on the sugar intake, your body will burn the fat calories and what not easier and faster - since it does not have to burn off the sugar first.

I kicked caffine recently. I had a slew of head aches once those finally went away I was fine. Now, i might have a soda once every two weeks. And it is usually a sprite. No caffine in sprite.:) :) :)

Hey bonx, the headaches weren't from soda or caffiene, it was from lack of water.

That's one thing that most people don't know, is that you need water. I know people that replace water with pepsi. I mean completely, and then he hootchie cootchies about how he has a headache and I feel like smacking him to knock the stupidity out of his head.

Dr. Pepper is the best liquid ever made though, I drink at least a 6 pack a day.
