    WinXP gaming problem!

I was in a classical mood last night, so I went to install the original Quake, and it wouldn't work. Evidently it's because XP is an NT derivitive and it won't work on XP, won't even install. Anyone have any work-arounds?

      Try this.
Open the CD, right click on the install file go to properties, compatiability tab, check the box that saysrun this program in compatability mode for, the select windows 95 or 98. You might have to play around with it, maybe change everything on the cd to 98, or install it then change everything to 98. Thats how I got red alert to work with XP.
      Good luck.
