Things you have made while in school

i once made a fishing pole, out of 4 mech. pencils, a tic-tac-box a roll of thread, a 3 inch peice of electrical tape, and a paper clip, i then tried to reel in the ISS (in school suspension) teacher, and inevitably got another day of ISS, another time i made a inkpen cartrege shooter, by takeing a ink pen, hollow it out, then strap a rubber band across the back, and to the front, but not over the front, hold the rubber band in place preferably by its grip, then load the cartrege and fire, we now have over 100+ of these buggers stuck in stair wells everywhere

once I made a device out of some screws I took from a table, some pencils, a compass, and a rubberband. It shot the sharp point strait downward through a thick algebra 2 book and 30 sheets of paper.

in world history we still have all the wooden desks in the back of the froom from 1970, and since our school is overcrouded me and my friends have to sit in em... only 1 of them has a actual desk to em, the other top is split in half, 1 is missing a leg, and when we break off a wooden piece, we use that piece to wedge off other pieces

oh yeah, ive never really made anything interesting in school, but i do have something to post...

last year i sorta became friends with my woodshop teacher, and i helped him move stuff on the last day of school (a new school was just built) along with a few other people, and afterwards he showed us a box of confiscated projects. they used to have a metalworking class at the school, so they were a bit more interesting than i had imagined. there were about 5 knives, brass knuckles (me want... but he wouldnt let me take it) a pipe, some other random stuff, and even a gun... it didnt have a frame, but it was still fully functionable im still woundering who it was that made a gun in school.

I made a machine that played skee ball. Well, I was in a group that made a machine that played skee ball. It would beat a human player. It used image processing to determine where the first ball went, and then adjust itself properly. That was the plan, most of the time we would just set it in just the right spot so it wouldn't need to adjust itself. The height was adjusted manually, and we would line it up to a specific skee ball machine. Then it would move to the left or the right, or change the velocity. And it's got a light so it looks cool.

A hydrogen bomb to play hunt the hindenberg (sp) . Not what it sounds like.. what we did in chem class is we filled a bunch of balloons with helium, then one with hydrogen. We let them float in the room and then touched them with a lighter on the end of a yardstick. All fun and games till the hindenberg floated too close to a window with forseeable results .

A rocket in math class. The rule was if you caught it you got an A for the semester. I had to jump someones fence to catch it but I caught it . Had I been told this add on before building it I would not have built a three stage rocket and it would have had a better 'chute... of course then it would have drifted farther still.

A bridge... we had to build a bridge to span two feet out of balsa wood. Then we supported weight from the center of it - whoever's bridge held the best weight to weight ratio won. Honeycombing balsa wood is HARD and time consuming - and unless you do it just right it does substanitally weaken it - oops.

Rubber band powered cars - they were meant to teach us something, I forget what though - fun to build and then we raced them down the hallway.

We hit golf balls in math class, to teach us ballistic trajectories.

Moral of this story: Honor classes, AP classes, RULE.
