    Ahh, Virus Help Needed!

ok, well i clicked a link on me aim, and now ive got some kind of aim virus, it pops up some stupid away message with this link to the virus and i cant seem to get rid of it.

i ran norton anti-virus 2005 twice now once and then download new definitions and then scanned again, also ran an ad-aware scan just incase that would do it, but so far, nothing.

    any suggestions?

    thanks

Have you tried removing aim, and then reinstalling it?
Also, google the link. It probably will send you to a page with the fix.

You shouldn't I believe AIM is now centralized to where your buddy list is stored in AOL's servers so that way you can log on from various computers and access your buddy list.

As for the virus, try running Trend Micro's online virus scan. www.trendmicro.com

No.. ever go over a freinds house and sign on? Yea guess what, your buddy list is there.

But .. just to be extra careful if you want, My Aim > Save buddy list. Put it on your dekstop or something. It can save your profile, settings, and all that fun stuff..

Then after loading it on again load it up.

While you're at it.. I suggest you download middle man.

              Here's what you do.

Take you computer out into your front lawn and make a circle of salt around it. Light 4 candles at each polar endpoint (North, East, South and West). Grease your body down with the fat of a slaughtered emu and smear the motherboard with the love-juices of over-sexed guinea pigs.

Then don a loin cloth and hot-pink feather boa and ritual dance around the computer for 4 days.

This will end your problems quick and simple.
Return to the free market. Get rid of all government regulations and let society make it's own decisions. Time and again the relaxing of government regulations has increased profits, innovation and the economy.

Most spyware/adware scanners don't pick up the aimviruses. Check that link, pick out which one is yours and follow the directions. I got one a few months ago and used that site. It's very helpful.
