Yes you can hook a computer up to a receiver. I have my computer hooked up right now, you can get the stuff at radioshack or better quality stuff online. All you do is get a cable that plugs into the audio out on your computer, the other end of the cable has those connectors that plug into the stereo (forgot the name). But anyway it is real easy to do.
Klipsch 5.1 system if you want somthing for computer use only. The 4.1 is significantly cheaper also.

definitly dont get a crappy sound card... Good Sound Blaster Card should do it. My bro (Warrior_Rocker) was just tellin me how Sound Blaster has a external USB sound device, so u just plug it in. His friend has one and he was impressed i might pick me one up too. Also when you get a sound system if its 5.1 make sure itll run of a 5 channel card, or a 6channel. I got a 5.1 expecting it to work with my 5.1 card, it did but it wasnt surround sound. cuz logitech was to sorry to say i needed a 6 channel. So make sure!

ask your parents to give you a firm kick in the gutts, cause buying you 800 dollars of anything is a waste.... maybe ask them to put it towars college tuition, but not to material junk... you need to learn to earn than with you own damned lefty and righty..

There is plenty of stuff you can get with the iPod. One thing you will want for sure is a case for your iPod. I just bought a 20 gig and noticed how easy it was to scratch up my 300 dollar toy. So I bought an iSkin case and was VERY pleased with the way it fit my IPod. Also if you get a new car stero you can get an Alpine unit and run your iPod through your head unit. There is also plenty of other stuff like portable speakers and extra batteries. Check out www.everythingipod.com .

Thanks for being a Dick. See, I've already got a college fund, and 10,000$ worth of scholarships per semester lined up. See, my parents don't wait until I'm Junior in high school to start saving for college. Grow Up.

I forgot to throw this link up - http://www.iskin.com/ thats site I got my case from. I just got it a couple of days ago and I love it. I think its the best case you can get for your iPod. And unless you have a crap load of music I'd suggest the 20gig model. I've had my iPod for about a week and only have 4 gigs of music on it right now. Thats about 40-50 CDs worth of music. I mean 20gigs is still enough for 5,000 songs. The 20 gig model is also hundred dollars cheaper and a little slimmer. If you think you have 20+ gigs of music spend the extra 100 but I know most of my friends that got the 40gig model don't even have 20gig worth of music on theirs.

Ok, thanks. I have 10 gigs worth of right now, and still have 60 more CDs to rip to this computer, so I don't know how much more I'd need.
