question one in the chapter 8 review starts off: "Merchants usually sell small nuts, washers, and bolts by weight (like jelly beans!) rather than by individually counting the items."

whats with the like jelly beans! part... do they think 17 year old kids will find this funny? what gives?

Our chem. book had a 'Mysterious White Powder Lab' in it and I found it funny that it said we couldn't use Cocaine, Crystal Meth, Anthrax, or any other illegal substance.

Simple technique used in many text books; they are making the subject at hand relateable, which makes it relevant, which opens up the inferior d..(something..), a passage in your brain that is used to think both mathematically and visually at the same time, as well as being able to cross-reference facts your brain has already stored. Einstein had an enlarged inferior d...something.. which is one reason for his above average intelligence.
