Like in MA. THEN tell me Kerry has "the country's best interests" in mind. Bah, I would vote for a strong president over a wishy washy one any day of the week. Right or wrong, Bush took a stand. Kerry has yet to do that.

I don't want to argue with you but are you really saying that you'd vote for someone with a completely wrong stance as long as they took a strong stand on it?

This is a hypothetical someone as we'll probably never agree as to the right or wrongness of our present leader.

No, I support him for many reasons...among which, he is military friendly. And, we are in the midst of what will undoubtedly be a long, low intensity war. Like it or not. Right now, what our country needs is strong leadership. I dont see that Kerry posesses the backbone for it. The middle east is a mess; if we pull out now, we will be facing a much worse problem than we are now. I think Bush is committed to seeing this through; I dont think Kerry will, if he gets into office.

this is all my personal opinion. I can agree to disagree. Hell, our country is founded on that. But, Chris, you're wrong.

(thats a joke, dont take it personally)

          Intelligent post.

This is the key issue here. What you said before sounded totally insane (basically you would rather have someone be wrong, but stand by his convictions). Someone who is wrong but stands by it to the end is someone who is an idiot and bullheaded. Many people have compounded a problem by doing that.

But your clarification says that you believe he is RIGHT and stands by his convictions. That I can understand.

But guess what? We, of the opposition, believe our candidate is the one who is right. And we do get tired of hearing, "But he speaks from the heart. But he will guide with a firm hand. Etc, etc, etc."

Who cares if you disagree with his ideas? That carries no weight.

And I think you'll find Kerry more military friendly in the long run to military personell. He was, after all, one of you and has combat experience. Yes...I know all the hype going on about who is anti military and who isn't...but that is all politics. I think that the fact that McCain and Kerry are able to maintain a friendship despite politics shows that his ideas for the military are not too radical.

That's what the top brass at the Pentagon thought too. They don't anymore.
