He made his choice. Soon enough the V2, the very first functioning, liquid fueled rocket was born. Originally called the A5, Hitler renamed it Vergeltungswaffe or "vengance weapon".

von Braun got many of his ideas from and was inspired by Goddard. IIRC, after a few crashes that resulted in fires, he was prohibited from experiementing in Maryland, so he moved his work to New Mexico, near Roswell.

Too bad Goddard didn't get to see the SaturnV rockets that von Braun later developed.
