    Hey...Bigger Nerds Than Me:

    I would like to make copies of some DVDs i OWN. Heres what I have:

    Analog-Digital Converters (Canopus AV-1000)
    G5 Mac loaded to the max
    three DVD Burners
    -Sony +/- R
    -Sony +/- R
    -Pioneer -R
    many VCRs
    -Panasonic 1980 (3x)
    -Panasonic D555

    How can i do it. Heres what i've trie dand whats failed:
    1) DVD to DVD. Tells me it can't write (i assume because its copyrighted)
    2) Toast on the G5. I need a 7.4 GB DVD to copy these things (Dual Layered)
    3) DVD to Converter to g5. I capture the DVD to a .mov file and then burn to DVD (too long of a file)


    ideas? thanks!

      I normally use DVD SHRINK to pull the main "movie" file out by itself. Then IF I want any special features i'll burn it to another DVD since its like 40 cents a DVD now, and 15 bucks for a dual layered one.

      The only time I use DVD DECRYPTOR is if I picked up a different REGION dvd (such as my Shaun of the Dead copy) and instead of dealing with changing my drives region I just use Decryptor to copy to my hard drive, then pull it back with DVD SHRINK as all region.

      You're not going to be able to put a whole exact copy of a DVD DISC on a single DVD unless you compress it a LOT, which will KILL the quality. I suggest just copying the movie files themselves and you normally have no more then 10% compression.

          and this software i presume is available for a g5 Mac?
