    Car Audio Questions

Hey all, I'm in dire need of a new headunit for my truck. I recently bought a used factory 6 disc headunit that I thought would appease me but its not working very well.
Now I'm in the market for a nice aftermarket HU.
I basically want something thats MP3 compatible and satellite ready which isn't hard to find but I'd like it in a double din configuration. And I really hate when they have a cassette tape slot on the front, if its concealed its ok.
I've found a couple of Kenwoods that fit the bill but they are UK radios, would they be compatible with my Ford?

The models I'm looking at are

    Kenwood:

    DPX-MP5070 (UK)
    DPX-MP7050 (UK)

    Any other HU to consider?

If those don't work out I might bite the bullet and grab a new DDX7015, but its a little overboard for my needs.

Kenwood is ok. Also consider an Alpine, Clarion, or Pioneer Premier. If you're looking for a conservative system, it doesn't matter much really.

As long as you physically have a place to put your deck, you should be okay - just have to find a wiring harness.

You have alot more options going to a single DIN. If everything else is stock in your truck I would suggest going to your local BB/CC and buy an mp3 player that matchs your factory interior.

If you want to spend some money and replace your whole system look at Eclipse HU, very nice and kinda pricy.
      FOR SALE
      on/off, sear, PROConnect
AGD back bottle asa, laser logo

I'd really like to fill the entire dash opening, the aftermarket dash pockets look cheesy to me. I guess I could go with two single din units HU/EQ setup but thats going to be pricey too.

Everything other than the HU is JL.
          JL XR6.5 Front
          JL TR5x7 Rear
          JL 10W0's (2)
          JL 250/1 Mono amp
          JL 300/4

I've ran the stock HU for 2 years and really loved the it. It also kept the thieves guessing.

I like the Clarion ADB340MP but its not Sat ready.

I'd go with either Alpine or Clarion, and speaking of Clarion interested in a Clarion Pro Audio DB415 model CD player? I'll sell it for $50.

Does anyone know if the UK models use a different frequency for the radio?
I haven't heard a definite answer on that.

It looks like the Pioneer FH-P5000MP is my only choice, it offers everything I'm looking for. It just doesn't thrill me with the looks.

They shouldnt. A FM frequency is a FM frequency. I have a radio here from Poland that works just fine. I wouldnt even worry about it. If it doesnt work for some strange reason just sell it on E-bay heh.

But, my OPINION is that it will work.

Ebay is where I'd be getting it from, even though its new I'm still leary of purchasing audio equipment from there. Especially at these prices, I'd have no way to recover my payment.
