Tough to choose sides in this war!

Anyone want to take bets on how long before the French surrender?

Airstrike kills French Soldiers so they retaliate by attacking an airport!

Seems that they destroyed the two Sukhoi fighters used in the raid, as well as some choppers. Pretty dumb of the Ivory Coast. The French government may be a bunch of a-holes, but some of their military guys are tough as nails. The French paratroops fought hard at Dien Bien Phu. I hope that they don't lose any more men over there.

Oh you mean they are gonna run to us to beat someone up for them.
Right after they buggered us in the bung hole with that whole iraqi oil thing.

Would be very French of them.

First, where is "Ivory Coast"?? And does it have ivory?

Second, exactly why are the French there??

Third, why does a country I've never heard of get an emergency session in the UN but Iraq seems to not exist??

And yes, I'm sure the frogs will ask us for help. And we'll give it. And then they'll sayb us in the back. Again.

Have not seen it go political as of yet. Not for the most part anyway. Not certain it will not though...

why do you think it was a dumb move? Seems totaly justified to me. I applaude them for swift retaliation. Seems like it was the thing to do to me....

Ivory Coast is in western africa. France owned it until like the 50's.

There have been alot of coup's over the last few years, and I believer the north is controlled by rebels.

I tihnk a few thousand French troops are still there as peacekeepers.

                      Update!

The French have destroyed the ENTIRE AIR FORCE of the Ivory Coast!

The French now have air superiority with their 3 fighters. Boy those French sure are tough! They defeated a nation with an Air Force of 5 Helicopters and two planes!

I say we let the French handle it themselves!

As to Steelrat's point, the French LOST Dien Bien Phu.

in all honesty the french have sold weapons to our enemys int he past. lets see what 3 mirage fighters can do against 3 F16's and thier us trained pilots.

these just seems to be BS excuse, even worse than iraq excuse. the french just wanted to flex there muscle. the world complains about us getting involved in other peoples business, and here they are trying to keep a legitimate government from ending a civil war, or the peoples just revolution.

Well maybe we both confused. I was talking about the entire incident. The attack by the Ivory Coast and then the retaliatory strike by the French. This is what I read on it this morning... Not just that particular article but the whole set of things going on there. As well as I know of them from reading the paper this morning too. But that may be in error to some degree. Just commenting on what I know of it so far....
