so who saw the northern lights

well at the time of this post here in western mass the northern lights are very visible
and i must say i am impressed.... first time i've seen them this bright

now if i only had a camera and felt like getting my motorcycle under a wood gate
i would goto the top of Mt Tom (more like a hill about 6-700 ft above the town) i would
take some incredible pictures of this

Saw them here in MN last night. Almost a greenish color. Normally I just see them as white/blue.

But yes its been a while.....

      Northern lights

I saw them for the first time in my life last night. Because I live in Illinois it is not often that I get to see them. I went outside and saw them around 9:00PM last night. Unfortunatly, I live in an area with many lights so I could barely see the green curtain in the north.

Isnt Tom interested in the northern lights? I thought I saw a picture of his before.

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

saw them this morning around 4AM, covered about 1/2 the horizon and had a strobe affect..
by far the most impressive display I've seen here from home...

what is the scientific explination of the northern lights, isn't it just gases reacting in the atmosphere?

From Duluth MN they were awsome. Greens and reds, all swirly and moving a lot. Definently the best I had ever seen.

My dad thought he aw some kind of UFO. According to my mom, he was pretty freaked out when he first came inside. He was our in the garage watching some deer eat the corn he threw out and some sort of "big blue rocket thing with a red head" flew through the sky.

And I highly doubt he'd be seeing the Northern Lights in FL...

when my dad first saw the northern lights he thought it was aliens, so he pulled over and freaked out. I asked him how old he was when this happened and he said he was in college. i laughed hardcore.

My father told me a story that he and a friend who was studying to be a minister (or some religious thing) were in a car when they saw the lights he pulled over to watch and his friend got out and started praying thinking it was the end of the world.
