So, I jsut passed Halo 2. I know what you're thinking, I have no life, and it's true, I have had no life for the past 3 days straight. I played it on normal mode, and don't have any plans playing it again on heroic or legendary. Why you might ask? because the ending sucks. It really does suck. I waited YEARS for Halo 2, and what do they do? They end it with a cliffhanger! And not just a small cliffhanger like Halo 1, they end the game...in the MIDDLE of the campaign! And WTF, where did all the Earth levels go? I was so excited to play on earth, and all I got was a tiny bit, which sucked anyways.
And now, for all of you who want to know what happens in the game, here are the spoilers (in tl/dr mode):
You play as both Master Chief and the Elite Chief (the Arbitor) who was head of operations on Halo 1, and is in trouble with the Covenant head honchos, the Prophets, for letting Halo 1 be destroyed. They find another Halo, yada yada yada, the Elites are cast down by the Brutes, the Brutes become traitors, Master Chief and the Arbitor become allies in their quest to stop the multiple Halos around the galaxy from activitating and destroying all species that can harbor the flood...which is pretty much everything. The Hunters and Elites also join the Arbitor to defeat the Prophets and the Brutes. The Arbitor and pals defeat the head Brute just in time to stop Halo from being activated, and then find out that all Halos just got put on stand-by mode and can be activated by a remote, and then right before you're about to find out where the remote is, THE GAME ENDS. wtf mate. The last cinematics scene shows Master Chief aboard a Covenant ship heading towards earth. The End.
So, there you have it in an EXTREMELY condensed version. I'm incredibly dissappointed in the ending. I wanted some closure. Now I'm going to have to wait a couple more years for Halo 3, and trust me, there WILL be another Halo because if there isn't every Bungie employee will be lynched.
**At least the multiplayer kicks ***.
My hate list for Halo 2:
*the new life bar. I liked shield/helth better than just 1 bar.
*the ending
*the flood, I hated the flood in the first Halo. I almost threw up when I saw it again in Halo 2.
*the brute force. The Covenant think human weapons are primitave because they use explosives, yet they have a non-plasma grenade launcher? At least the melee is awsome.
*the ending
*too few Earth levels
*the ending
*the pistol.
They should have at least had a small amount of zoom on it.
*the flood
*the shotgun. way toned down. makes me sad.
I would put a list of what I like, but it's way too many.
