Halo 2 vs Half-Life 2

Personally, I like Half-Life 2 a lot better. Not just from the Single Player...but Counter-Strike Source is unbelievable and sooo addictive.

Why does it matter whether you play it on a controller or a mouse?
If Halo 2 comes out for PC, would you change your opinion? Im interested in what people thought was better gameplay wise.

It makes a HUGE difference. PC controls are easier, at least for me, and the graphics tend to be a lot sharper. Halo for the PC is a lot more fun that Halo for the Xbox, except for all the teamkillers

I like consoles. I know I'm in the minority here, but they are alot cheaper than computers. You have to constantly upgrade and spend a fortune on a computer to get it to run the latest games. On consoles it's cheap to buy them and the games always work.

Back to the question tho. He is not asking about computers or consoles or controllers. He is asking what game people prefer. For some reason I like Halo. I am not a big fan of FPS but for some reason I am just addicted to both Halo 1 and now Halo 2. I never got into Half Life and I have not played half life 2. I assume it is fairly similar.

i think halo multi player is better cuz is so much easier to hack on pc. there's really no way to stop it

The PC vs. console argument is so old, if you really want to use a keyboard and mouse for Halo 2 there is a company that makes a keyboard and mouse adapter for the Xbox. I personally like the analog sticks better than a keyboard and mouse, but to each his own I guess.

I don't really think this poll is fair though, I mean Halo 2 is being developed with 3 year old hardware in mind, while Half-life 2 is being developed for cutting edge hardware. Both games are awesome regardless.

I've warmed up to the Halo 2 Multiplayer, and would be playing right now if I hadn't used up all my allotted bandwidth for my campus network already...

P.S. I dont see how the PC version of Halo was anymore fun than the Xbox version with the non-stop lag, lamers using banshee all the time, and like you said, the tker's.

They're totally different games. I love Halo on the console. I love Vietnam on the PC. I'm an avid gamer for both. I love them both equally. However, I'm leaning towards Halo 2 in this one. Half Life 2 and counter strike are not my type of games really, even though I would frequent some cs servers back in the good days of 1.5.

1.5 was the good ole days.
i used to be good in 1.5
i quit for 3 months
1.6 came out and bam, i sucked.

half life 2 is a much better game, regardless off the system. Halo 2 is more like Halo 1.2 They didn't really do much. It's just some more levels and another gun hand. The multiplayer is essentially the same as halo 1, but with xbox live. The single player game was lacking. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't impressed. Half life 2 on the other hand... Single player is awesome! It's better than halo2 on so many levels. It just sucks that you need to go through steam and such.

Wow, I used to play back in the good days of Beta 3.1....
Talk about old. The M4 used to ALWAYS have a silencer on, and used to semi-zoom (ala the Sig and AUG) and basically was the greatest gun ever.
Bunny hopping still worked, o joy.
Guns didn't slow you down by weight, someone running with the Para was just as fast as someone with the knife.
AWP (used to call it Artic back then) had perfect aiming no matter how much you moved, and used to be 1 hit kill no matter WHERE you hit them, o, and it had a reticle even when zoomed out.
Only 1 autosnipe, and it really sucked.
Also a lot less guns, no UMP, FAMAS, Galil, Dualies or 59 (I think), no smoke nade.
And there was a map where people actually used night vision!


Sometimes I really wish they would release a Classic CS, even though it was unbalanced as heck it was still a ton of fun!
