ok my mom loves exotic cats and we have a lot of them at our house like cougars and servals and such and my mom has her usda liscense but she needs help from people to sign this petition for them to not ban theese cats for people to own cause thats what there trying to do is ban theese cats and its wrong so plz we need 4000 signatures by friday we got like a 1000 so pbnation and everyone plz help out just sign it and sign ur name email adress and were u live then approve ur signature and ur done its so cool if u guys help theese cats are beautiful and should not be banned thank you guys plz help!

I am SO thrilled to be able to announce that the Hybrid Pride website is up and running!!!!!

I just want to take a moment to thank EVERYONE on the Hybrid Pride workgroup for all their hard work in researching the laws for the states. A special thank you to Alan - who volunteered his time to develop the site for us (I am forever grateful). A big thank you to Tressa for all her hard work coding all the laws in and getting them to Alan. Also to Mel, for giving us the kick in the butt to get us started <grin>.

Please cross post this email to as many lists as would find it helpful - bengal lists, chausies, etc. We will be updating this list every month to be sure that the links are current and the alerts are up to date.

On the links page you can find links to the site which I would apreciate EVERYONE adding to their websites. If you find a broken link please let me know!

I hope that this site will prove useful to all breeders and future hybrid owners. Again, my thanks to everyone who got this project from an idea to a functional site.

I wouldn't want my neighbor owning a large hunting cat as a pet. Sorry.

Some animals aren't made to be pets. Domestication involves hundreds of years of breeding and training. These animals are not domestic, they are still wild animals, living in peoples homes.

I agree with you Thordic. I love large cats like white tigers and such, but i like them at the zoo or on TV, not in my neighbbors yard. They are not meant to be pets. What happens when these things get out and cause problems. Many people can't keep track of their dogs and what if a loose dog was really a cougar......

They are definitely cool animals, and might even make awesome pets a lot of the time. I'm sure its fun to have a pet cougar.

But the problem is they are WAY more likely to attack someone than your average housepet.

Most dogs that bite have either been trained to attack or were improperly trained, with a wild animal the animal can be trained perfectly and still attack for no reason.

Look at Siegfried and Roy. Their tigers were "perfectly trained".

Ummm ya, the next time an "exotic" animal gets loose in my neighborhood, Im a pull out the 20 guage! I had an iguana get loose, A Boa constrictor, and to make it worse...A FREAKIN TIGER!!! Like wth!
