we had dial up for years. finally we got dsl lite. its supposed to be as fast as full dsl for surfing. it worked great for the first month or 2 that we had it, but now it will work for about a half hour just fine, after that when you click on something nothing happens (the lights on the modem dont even flash like they should) and when it wants to it will load but very slowly. can somebody help me???????

Not much we can do from here, but if you call up the provider, they can "try" and help. Unfortunately they don't really care all that much. Such was the reason we went to cable internet (DSL provider put us on a very crowded line and lied to us all the time). Unfortunately, cable internet is just as bad... we have outages all the time and several times a day I have to reset the entire internet hardware systems to get it back up to speed. -
yea my dad has cable on his computer and it owns dsl hands down!
but so basicly your telling me to take a hammer to the dsl modem

Xyxyll, I used to have outages on my cable modem all the time. How many times do you have it split before it gets to the modem, because splitting it too many times causes signal interference. Once this interference becomes too high, the modem will drop out and attempt to reconnect.
By putting the modem on a more direct line from the houses cable inlet, I was able to solve the problem, might work for you.
Maybe someone can PM me why my sig was tampered
with when my image is below 20 kb and was 350x159.(20435 bytes/1024 bytes per kb = 19.96 kb.)Comment

Try calling your provider and asking them to up your badwidth. Also check what your max and minimum speeds were on the contract.Comment

ya some times my dsl becomes really gay, but lately its been str8Bad Traders: Brice34, complete total fraud, lied constantly and stole 60$ for an egg Comment

I have fast access DSL, and it works fine. Sometimes if im on a good server, I can be downloading at over 1.5mb/s. This is on a shared network with two other computers too.

hopfully i get all of this staitened out
the only thing that puzzels me about the whole thing is that i can have one web page open and when it starts being gay i can minimize it and open another web page and it will load like it should while the first one just sits there
