    Half Life 2.

CS is good, but you also get all those great mods aswell.

      CS:Source, flat out.

UT2004 is great, dont get me wrong, but very resource-intensive. I can play CS Source MUCH smoother then UT2004, and I honestly enjoy CS a little more, although that could be because my key wasnt valid (PURCHASED AT EBGAMES ) so I couldnt play online.. Both are great, but I just enjoy CS more. UT's weapons.. bleh, fun in UT2003, but kind of annoying in 04. I do reccomend getting both, however .

For reference, I have a DL(Aftermarket) Radeon 9600SE, which isnt a very good card.. memory bus width of like 64mb and actual memory of 128mb, ran Doom3 at maybe 12fps . HL2 / CSS is in the 30's though, and I actually preffered Havok engine to the Doom3 engine (Chaos?).

Here is an early beta demo for the Havok engine (Version used in CSS / HL2 is reffered to as Source, minor tweaks are the only difference between it and Havok)

      (Older, easier on eyes demo)

      EDIT AGAIN:
      While I'm at it..

some of the Demo's dont work anymore :/

UT2k4. It's a beautiful game, and the replay value is tremendous. It has a huge online support community, and new maps, gameplay mods, characters, and mutators are always being released. Also, you will notice a slightly lower level of "OMGWF PWNZR J00" than what you find on CS.

The only negative I can think of for UT2k4 is that it will cause your grades to slip.

Go with UT2K4. It rocks, the single player is a lot of fun and multiplayer is just awsome. It is great playing with 32 completely random people trying to defend or attack in the assault mode. You get to drive stinking awsome vehicles too. There are so many things that UT2K4 has that CSS doesn't, which to me makes it a better game. I run UT2K4 on an Alienware Roswell-m with P4 3.2 Ghz, 1gig ram, and a NVidia Quadro Go1000 128mb card and it runs as smooth as ever. Granted that is a awsome system itself . Still, if you have a machine that can handle it then go for UT2K4. If CSS is anything like what I have been hearing about HL2 then I would say it might not be worth it (I am expecting to be flamed for that one ). From what I have been reading about HL2 is that it is pretty boring and most people are picking Halo 2 or even UT2K4 over HL2 if they have a choice. I have also heard and read that Doom3 is not what people were expecting either. Now, I have not played either one of those game (HL2 of Doom3) so don't take me word for it. But I have played UT2K4 and it is by far the best game I have ever played.

Yeah, I think Polorboy summed up my feelings. Unreal Tournament 2004 has so many options that it's not even funny.

                  Assault: Competitive missions online.

Onslaught: Fight to control various power nodes. If you control the right ones, you attack the opponents base and try and destroy it. These games can last over an hour.

                  Deathmatch: Self Explanitory

Bombing run: Football, except instead of tackling, you shoot them

                  CTF: Self Explainitory

Invasion: Online game similar to Assaunt, except your job is to kill all the creatures

Instagib CTF: Same as CTF, but you have one shot kills.

Plus, the actual game, which is really just preperation for online multiplayer.

Also, the AI is incredible. I consider myself fairly good online (Noah.the.Red) but if there are Godlike bots, I usually get a good run for my money.

Oh yeah, and vehicles. There are lots of unique vehicles.

Put it this way... New physics aside, there is NOTHING new in CS:Source. Sure, ragdolling bodies and new flashbang effects are cool, and the game looks just amazing. (Granted, I have over $2000 invested in this system in just RAM, CPU and Video card.)

UT 2k4 has absolutly amazing levels of replay value. Me and the roommates LAN whenever we tear ourselves off of Halo 2 or WoW. Vehicles, awesome AI, and online play makes this game one of my favorites.

So go UT! CS will get boring after you get over the new look and realize it is just the same game.
