ok my friend threw an egg at a car and hit it, the car turned out to be a cop car. he is 17 i am 18 and the other kid in the car was 17. I was the driver. i didnt rlly know what he was going to do with the egg but any way we all get arrested. they search us and find nothing . i got charged with a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct anf a felony charge of malicious destruction of property over 250 dollars. i go to court and talk to the DA he give me the deal of a pretrial probation of 6 months and after 6 months all charges get dismissed. poof they go away completely. im not exactly sure what a pretrial probation is. im the kind of person that worries about everything and is it possible for them to go back on there deal even if i dont commit any more offenses. im a senior at highschool and have never even gotten so much as a detention. i know it was stupid and yady yady ya. any info would be apreciated.

Im not quite sure what it is but sounds like u jsut agree to probaton wihtout going threw the actual trial. I highly doubt the state is trying to screw u over I mean i have never heard of a DA offering somone probation then taking it back.
But my best advice will be call a lawyer and ask them bout it.

Then whatever your terms of probation are. Is what is going to go down.

Its also called "diversion" and its a good deal. Essentially, they don't charge you with anything. As long as you are good for 6 months, they get rid of the complaint. If you screw up, they move forward with the charges against you, and you go to court or plead out. Its much better than probation, because in order to get probation, you need to be convicted of something. With pretrial probation, you havent been convicted of anything.

Yeah, when I had my "legal issues" two years ago I got a Deferred sentance... Basically I did 50 hours community service, and had to not get in any trouble (barring minor traffic tickets) for one year and they dropped the charges... Sounds alot like what you'll have to do.
Seriously though, cop cars aren't hard to pick out, did your friend just hate you or something?Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

yea Steelrat is absolutely right. I was gunna tell you the same thing he said.
You should probably check and make sure you know all the rules about your probation though, because sometimes they curfew you and stuff. If you dont want the felony on your record then Ide suggest dont violate your probation. If you do they will follow through with the trial and you'll get charged.
Be good for 6 months and your fine.

theres no restrictions on my probation. the cops made accusations and where sure we had weed and somehow got rid of it when he honestly had none. they towed my car even though i had a friend on the scene who would have driven my car home. it was pitch black out and we only saw the high beams of the car, we only realized it was the popo after he drove past us. i was thinking about asking to have the price of the car being towed deducted from the restitution me and my friends have to pay, but i was gonna talk to a lawyer first. well i figure i havent gotten in trouble for 18 years so i can be good for 6 months. but one of the kids becaue he is a juvinile got 48 hours of community service and has to write 3 letters of apology, the other one has his court date on friday. i think the court system makes it easier to get rid of felony charges for minors but u have to work to get it off. luckily i just got the slap on the wrist and the pretrial probation.
