The driver didn't "run," he did his job. He left the package. Chances are, he wasn't the one who damaged the box, so as far as he knew, it was in piss poor shape since it was shipped. As drivers/driver's assistants, our job is to get the packages to the recipient-- we aren't responsible for knowing the entire history of the package and baking you cookies because your box got ripped.

            yep same stuff

that happen to me but none of my parts were damage, they were lost. i order a power steering kit from my 67 bronco and, about a week after ordering it the ups man leaves it in front of my door. he takes off before i can yell at him cause one of the box had a huge hole in it and the power steering box was hanging out. i take some picturs of it, and call up the place i ordered it from and emailed then the pictures and they told me to open the box and see if any thing is missing, and it turns out, that ups had lost ALL THE NUTS AND BOLTS!!! AND EVEN THE DIAGRAM OF WHERE I AM SUPPOSE TO DRILL IN MY FRAME. So a few days later the Fedex man come with all new bolts and ever thing. The moral of the story is don't trust UPS, go with FedEx

Amen to fedex I'll be heading over there tomorrow to ship out some goodies, not to mention Fedex is like 40% cheaper than UPS.

i did have a funny story with fedex once...

the package required signature, no one was home, they left the note thing on my front door.so i sign the slip saying its ok for them to leave the package(live in rural area surrounded by farms). next day, i come home and there is another slip on my backdoor.

well since i needed the parts that night(computer parts) as i was building the comptuer that night, i had to dirve 20 minutes to the fedex facility and pick up my package. on the way to my friend's house(he helped build the computer) i got pulled over for speeding. after the cop gives me my ticket, he notices all the computer stuff in the car and starts questioning me. he starts looking around the car some more, sees my rt laying on the floor behind my seat.

so then i got the pleasure of explaining to the cop that i had been playing paintball, then worked(reffing) then went straight to fedex and was on my way to build the computer.

all in all, it was a funny story after the fact, though i think fed ex should pay my $95 ticket.

Well, i love UPS, never had a problem with them

I still remember the day i got my mag from action village, the UPS guy was like "you must be a paintballer" i was like

But, i do hate FedEx. When i ordered my computer, it came by fedex, and since they always come to my house when i'm not home i have to drive all the way to the fedex place to pick up my package.

ok, maybe i'm just lazy, nvm

OMG, someone at UPS saw a package that was falling apart and retaped it - the driver left it as he was supposed to, and UPS will cover the damage from what was probably an error.

As much as your about this, I hope you never make a mistake. This was human error somewhere along the line, this was not some great conspiracy to hurt your stuff and screw you, and chances are when you talk to them they will help you. Of course if you are a jerk and start into this consipiracy theory of yours there not going to go out of there way to help you out. A mistake, allow it, accept it, and allow it to be fixed. Things happen you don't worry about it until someone refuses to accept respsonsibility and fixc it.

you dont get it do you, but you wouldnt understand why dont you make a big purchase thats $500+ and when you get home part of the package is messed up and parts are broken, its like ordering a $500 mag and it arrives with the barrel snapped in half, and feedneck snapped but you wouldnt know what that would feel like would. I'm pissed b/c the driver could of atleast been like here give these people a call and explain everything, but no UPS failed to even do anything but try to pass it off as being acceptable. Like the other guy stated who works for UPS if they break a item they have to report so that it doesnt get delivered, well it sure as hell was delivered proving they tried to pass it up as nothing happened. So until you know what it feels like to make a big purchase and to have it arrived messed up and barrel useable I suggest you shut the hell up. Thankfully the company I bought it from is cool about it and sent out another one, I told them use FEDEX b/c UPS has a history.

As to shut the hell up and until it happens . If you think having some toy screwed up is a great disastor in the world, I pray you have a sheltered life in the future.

You ordered a toy, it was not something you HAD to have.
Somewhere in shipping (Im guessing a conveyer belt) the box was torn and damaged.
Someone tried to keep damage from occuring by taping it.
They delivered it according to company policy.
It was damaged when you fully opened it.
You reported it, they sent you a knew one ASAP and UPS will pay for the damage up to insured value.
It cost you a weekend with your new toy.
You pitch a fit like a two year old over it - grow up. I said that like I shouldnt. there are better ways. But this is not a big deal, things happen in life. IF they had not handled it, yeh I could see making this big of a deal, but your stressing over nothing. Thats meant to be friendly, so the first part wasn't.

I learned not to bother worrying about the little things that dont mean anything in the end. I learned it when my children were taken from my house against a court order, taken out of state, and it took me two days of searching to find them.., another week to get them back, that was a year ago. I have never had anything like that happen again, and few things really piss me off now.
