Problem with the sound drivers on my computer

I recently had to get a new windows xp home cd because windows randomly died for me and I didn't have the cd, but that's another story. Right now I'm in winamp I click a song and this message comes up.

Bad Directsound driver. Please install proper or select another device in configuration. Error 88780078

In windows media player it says something like hardware is bad or not setup.

Any help? I can't figure out how to install the hardware.

Edit: another problem, when surfing the internet, I scroll down and it goes really slowly down. Need help on that one too.

I think that would be a problem with your video card. If you havent installed a driver for it, try that and it should work.
