how can my class win a canned food drive

my 5th period class is having a competition with all of the other 5th period classes in my school and we need to win a canned/cant go bad food drive, we have until the 21st to get as many cans and unperishable foods as possible.

what would be some good cheap ways to win this?

Costco

Go to Costco and buy as much food as you can.

If you want, do the math and get the most bang for your buck. But it's a food drive, do it for the needy, not to win.

Get a flyer written on your schools letterhead to make it seem official.
On it have it explain the purpose of the drive, and who is benefiting.
On the letter also include a pick up date you will pick them up (they can leave the items on their porch or something).


Leave these in the mailboxes of the nieghborhoods you all live in. Then go back to their houses and see if pick up the food.


Also, try a fund rasier, so you can buy in bulk at some place like Sams Club.

You could also try your local food stores, I'm sure they would be more than glad to donate a little bit (You will definately need a offical school lettehead for this).


When I was in my High School Key Club we fed anywhere from 200 to 300 familys for Thanksgiving each year. All of the food was donated. That's turkeys, cans, milk, etc, the whole deal.

You're not allowed to put a non posted flier in a mailbox. That's a crime and the post office will go looking for you..

little underhanded, but get it written up on school paper all official like, then go to a local super market and talk to the manager and see if they would like to help. sometimes u will get some free stuff, sometimes a discount, and sometimes they might not help u, but will contact the school directly and make a contribution. ether way, as long as more food is raised does it mater if ur class wins?

Fine, then knock on the houses. Actually, come to think of it, that's what we did.. And then if they were not home we put it in the mailboxes. It helps alot more if they see you talk to them to explain the sitatution.

My school is doing the same thing. Half the teachers give out bonus points.


Accept ours is different it is more like the classes as in grade wise.


Your best bet is to go to like samsclub or random stoors and buy all the Ramen noodles. The people accept them cause they arent parishable.

What we did last year was have everyone in our class give the teacher like $5-10 I dont remember exactly how much it was. And then he just went to the store picked up crate after crate of Ramen Noodles with the money and that pretty much secured the win for us. I don't think any other class was even close to us.

Since the food is mostly likely out in the open all day....everyday you have send somebody to grab 2 cans of food from another class. BAM! you're up on them.

Then if anybody catches you scream "Har har har You scurvy Currs I be taking your canned foods, and i'll be back for more! har har har(End Pirate voice)" Then you'll be known as the pirate class and thats just cool in itself
