    LAN Party Ideas

First things first.. yes I am a geek.. yes I am having a lan party..

So I decided to through a lan party over the christmas holidays.. I've had them before but only 4 computers and 4-6 people.. this time I'm looking at 12+ computers.

Here is where I need help.. I need cheap easy table space for those 12 computers.. I can fit 4-5 on my kitchen table.. so that leaves about 8 computers without a spot..

Also I need input on a few good games to play.. what I have so far is..

    -starcraft
-quake2 or unreal tournament (the first or second one)
    -c&c

The easier it is to crack and install the game the better.. thats one of the reasons why counter strike, dod, and diablo2 isn't in that list..

Go to walmart and buy the long fold out tables. Oh, and don't forget the beer and pizza!

for quick-fix games, break out the classics:
        Worms/Worms2/Worms:Armageddon
        and
        Scorched3d

If all of your friends don't already own their own copies of half-life, they have problems and shouldn't be going to a LAN party in the first place. Direct them to a wal-mart or similar, half-life isn't that expensive anymore and the mods you can install make it so worth it. Consider it admission price :P

Soldier of fortune/SoF2 is also one of the easier FPS's to install across computers.

Games that are a pain but are oh-so-worth it:
        Warcraft3
        Rise of Nations
        Empire Earth
Battlefield 1942 and mods (Desert Combat!)
Grand Theft Auto 3 (multiplayer mod)
        UT2k3/4 and mods

It just isn't a LAN Party without Bawls, so go sign up for sponsorship. Free Bawls.

call of duty is a good game, only need one cd/key for everyone, doesn't require the cd to be in when playing multi. the only place i've found bawls commercially is at comp USA and man is that stuff delicious, especially by the case.

We just use card tables for our LANs, and you definetly need a lot of bawls. The battlefield games are also easy to crack...but I didn't tell you that

Guys do not talk of crackinggames in open fourms. Its NOT legal and thefor not open.

                  As to Lan Parties.

We used some long run cables and kept everyone in a differnt rooms and use Roger wilko totalk via head sets

Then we got serious and wired up the pool house for 12-24 players, we made 12 tables and had fold outs for the rest.

Youcan get the mega pack of Halflife for like $20, and as stated before you should be lan'ing if you dont have a copy of HL, its like a law or someing in 48 of the 50 states.

Where is it going to be? I would be down for a lan party. I'll bring my monster of a laptop and own all.

make sure there is plenty of crown and beer to throttle it back later in the evening.

SC is always a fun one and runs on dam near any machine.
