Black Mesa was supposed to be his "test" to see how good of a merc he was.

If MC and Gordan were doing this old cowboy style at 20 paces.. MC would win because hes alot faster then Gordan.

Now if MC and Gordan were sitting at a bar.. and one of them happened to insult the other ones mother.. and they got into a good old fastioned bar brawl (so no armor, and no weapons).. MC would come out on top too.. hes faster and stronger..

Now if MC and Gordan were settling there differences at a game of Unreal Tournament 2k4 insta gib death match.. I think it would come down to who had the better ping

Half of MCs strength comes from Mjollnir......which is a totally stupid name for armor.

Mjollnir is not only responsible for Masterchiefs survival, it is partially to credit for his success. Mjolnir has AI, which in fact does some of the thinking for him. Thus, MC would be a punkass space marine who would be good at dodgeball if it wasn't for his armor.

Gordons HEV suit provides four meager services. It gives up to date life support information. It protects from radiation. It has an toxin inhibitor injector. And provides a low level of armor from weapons and fire.....but it still leaves the user in the cold(for lack of a better word) in most situations.

Give Gordon MCs mark five armor and see how he does....I guarantee Gordon would make MC look like a retarded panda bear trying to built an erector set.

If Gordon and MC were in a bar together, we can assume two things.

ONE: Gordon has lived for over 500 years. That's over 500 years experience.....which odds are would include all the campaigns that MC missed because he had yet to be concieved.

TWO: MC would be a lightweight because he never went to college, and thus never learned his limit. If he's half the soldier they say he is, he worked his butt off in Military school and never drank. Thus, MC would be drinking Everclear because he heard it was good(lies) and would be filling his Space ranger helmet with his own puke. Gordon on the other hand, would be taking body shots from a hot coed(he's a nerd, nerds like gordon and me love body shots off of hot girls)....and then he'd write out the superstring theory on a napkin just to show how not-tanked he was.


Once the fight started(without armor because that's low and stupid....and who wears armor to the bar anyway?), MC would take a shot at Gordon, who would step backwards and let MC fall. Then Gordon would pick him up, take him to his apartment, introduce him to G-man and then it'd be like a Batman and Robin type deal.....without the gay love.

See the armor isn't MC's only "improvement" he is implanted with enhancements that automatically increase his reaction times, speed and strength. The majority of his fighting against the covenant before the actual Halo storyline was done without his Mjolnir. And he still whooped ***. Also from age 14 he ate slept and breathed combat tactics so without his suit he is still many many many times more capable than a normal human.

I do think 'external' forces were at work to put gordon in the test chamber that day (remember that women scientist getting all pissy about 'How it should have been her that day'), whether or not it was the Gman I don't know. I just printed that quote becaused I loved that whole part of the game.

well... MC has plasma grenades that stick and a 1 shot 1 kill sniper rifle... a suit that heals itself... motion detector.... and has to face pairs of hunters and groups of those other big things too... and the enemies of MC think for themselves.
