Well I think comparing this to running over an old lady is a stretch. But, you are right being on drugs and drunk is not an excuse.

I don't excuse the drug or alcohol use at all. And I don't condone it. But I believe everyone deserves a second chance if they are sincere and they are appologetic and want to try. And I believe they can gain some help by being here from hearing what you are saying. I don't write anyone off until they are completely hopeless. If he indeed does have a problem and does not get help, he will repeat that behavour and be gone for good. Simple as that. It's up to him now.

the irony of the WHOLE thread is that his apology included various swear words and his new user names was anything other then appropriate for this forum. And then there was a referance to drugs.
