Watch out for estate sales.
That's where I found mine. Got a beautifull 1 piece 1"slate (not made anymore) table for $250. Had trouble finding someone to move it. Nobody wants to risk moving a 1 piece slate. The moved it and re-felted it for another $200. It is well over a $2000 dollar table.

I don't know where you can find it, but keep an eye out.
You want a 4'x8' (or 4.5'x9' if you have the room) table. You want a slate surface usually a table that size will be 2 or 3 pieces of slate. And you want pockets.
Look for those three things and you'll have yourself a nice table.

Brunswick still makes 1 piece slat tables. Just not in Tournament size.

Best thing to do is keep an eye out in things such as the classified sections of local news papers, the Penny Saver, green sheets, etc... You can usually find someone that is moving but doesn't want to bother with the table. The only bad part is that you have to move it yourself or pay a company to do it. Remember, 1" slate is HEAVY!

I'd advise strongly on having someone professionaly move and install the table. If it's off-balance at all, your play will be severely affected. Plus they are rediculously heavy to move.
As for finding one, ^^^^. Classifieds, moving sales etc. Just sold mine cause the new pad doesn't have room, and it went to a co-worker of my mom's.God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.Comment

We got ours for about 1000, its a 3 piece slat table and im not sure who makes it. Ya 1" slate is very heavy. My buddy's girlfriend was moving and had a $10,000 table that was ours for free if you could move it out of the basement. Well lets just say we had 6 guys and no table.Comment
