Is there a program that will give me access to my own IP address whenever it changes via E-mail or messenger service? I looked a little bit couldn't find anything. There's gotta be and IT profesional on AO that knows about this type of product? THanks

What OS are you running? I have a bash script that I use that runs every half-hour (cron entry) that hits my router and gets the WAN ip from it. It compares it to the last known IP address and if its different emails the new IP to my various email accounts (work, hotmail, gmail, etc) ....
For some reason for the past three years I never had a different IP with charter, lately though it seems everytime we lose power or I bounce my router I get a different IP address. Drives me nuts. Whats nice though is my router will automatically update DynDNS each time it changes also.
If you are running a *nix of any kind I can see about getting you that shell script and show you how to set up cron if you dont already know.

I use no-ip.com for my ftp, but I'm afraid while I'm gone in Germany I'll need something so I'm going to run a VNC server too....Comment
