i had a similar experience, we were in my dads volkswagen and there was a big truck in front of us, and all of sudden a 2 inch long bolt looked like it just sorta floated down and decked the windshield...luckily it only dinged it but it scared the crap out of us and we thought it was gonna shatter it

I was a passenger in my wife's 1990 ford escort (so my life was at risk already), when I noticed something hovering in front of me.

You know when a baseball is hit right at you, and you don't see it move? it just keeps getting bigger and bigger? rocks do the same thing.

This thing was about the size of a deck of cards, and hit right in front of my face. somehow the windshield didn't crack until about 6 months later, in the same spot...

One the few good things about Florida...free,un-questioned replacement of windshield glass under basic comprehension.

Sucks when it happens either way tho.

Isn't it amazing how the how hot cold thing works in the winter. Just when you thought that little chip was nothing, you went and turned your defroster on in the morning and came out to that!....Sucks doesn't it. Happened many a time to me. Luckily, I have glass coverage with my insurance. Always replaced for free!!!
