Well I finally got my Alpine CDA-9833 and I installed it today. My car has 3 factory amps (Mustang w/ Mach 460) so I have the factory amps running the speakers and the Alpine powers nothing. It sounds awesome but everytime I turn it on there is this loud pop noise. Other than the pop noise everything sounds great. I tried and tried to figure out what was causing the loud pop when the headunit is powered on but I gave up and turned to the AO car audio gurus. Any ideas?

Well through a bit of trial and error I found the cause of my popping noise. The remote amp lead on the factory unit puts out a 4 volt signal to turn on the factory amps while Alpine's unit and every other unit in the free world uses a 12 volt signal. Thank you Ford Motor Co.
I've had two different audio stores/installers tell me you could NOT replace the headunit of a Mustang w/ Mach460 sound system AND keep the factory speakers and amps (which sound alright btw). My car is now rocking hard with my new Alpine unit and my factory speakers and amps, no thanks to them
