I need some wire running help please.

Yea, i just bought the ps2 online pack today and i got a 50 ft cat5. I need to run it to my room, i don't really feel like going under the house so im force to drill a hole from the wall be hind my computer into the closet which is about a 10 inch length hole i have to drill, so i don't really know if i should just go at it and drill the hole or not because i don't know if theres wires in the wall i could damage while doing this. So i am in desperate need of help.
So come on guys and help me out.

Go to CompUSA and buy a wireless router and bridge and hook your sysem up to that. You won't need to drill holes then.

Unless you understand how a house is built, drilling random holes in walls can be a dangerous thing. You can hot, electrical wires, phone wires, water supply pipes, sewer pipes, vent pipes, gas lines, etc. All of which are hard to fix inside a wall.

yea i know, i don't reall like wireless routers, but is there a way i can find out if theres any of that stuff in there without drilling first?

They usually do not run wires directly above the floor line. So 1 inch above carpet level is usually safe as long as your not drilling in an area known to have water/heating conduits.
