Hmm...I wonder if they were just "Painting" the target for some guided missle, if thats even possible? -
I don't know of any laser guided missiles; all I know of are radar guided [they lock onto the reflection of radar waves off the metal of the plane] or heat guided [they use IR to lock onto the hottest thing around, generally a plane's exhaust right behind the engine].SwallowBleach: It's good for you.

Yeah i read about this in todays paper. Crazy.
My little bro had a laser pointer that was so powerful it was scary. We used to shine it on the houses all the way down the block, and u could see it clear as day. Really makes u think.

seen some thing like this
i remember on the history channle they were doing a show about how the red barron got shot down and they were using a powerful green pulsating laser to shoot at a plane from the ground. that thing could reach that altitude the beem was like and inch wide.Comment
