Whats the best gunpowder to use?

Ok Im going to go buy some gun powder tomorrow to make some homemade fireworks. I dont want any huge bombs or anything but about the size of an M-80, or maybe even smaller than that untill I get good at it.

What kind should I use and what should I stay away from? Is it bad to get stuff that burns too fast? I know how to roll them and stuff so if I get good powder I should be ok.

Any advice?

Ive made them tons of times before by cutting open multiple fireworks and using the combined powder. Im pretty careful about it and I use long fuses. Im sick of doing that so this way is faster. Any real advice?
