Dumb question, but nothing much else can be expected from a stupid isolated east coast American. Do people who grow up with the classic "southern" (as in US... Texas, Georgia, etc.) consider "the rest of us" (I live in DC, so midway up the east coast, sort of in between "southern" and "New England") to have an "accent"? Do we sound funny to them? Same thing with the Brits and Aussies, although to a slightly more "extreme" extent. I assume we must, but I've lived here and around this same type of speaking my whole life and it's sort of hard to fathom at the same time.

Did that even make any sense?

edit: Somebody stop me from using quote marks in the future, I've just raped my weekly allowance.

^^ and thats NOT how it goes. Cockneys have a slang system. Its very confusing to non-London English people. And its supposed to be.

Meh. To all you Englanders, I know it ain't Irish. I didn't even really think about the "accent" of what I typed, just like to use 'tis and o' sometimes
