    I'm curious as to what could be done to prevent this "mega tsunami".. and whether or not anything SHOULD be done..

              My local weatherman can't reliably tell me if it's going to be hot and dry tomorrow or cold and wet, and I'm supposed to believe that they can forecast a tsunami 50-10000 years off?

              I never like California anyway.

                      Yes, as we all know projections of this kind mean dick, as our technology still cant accurately measure changes and what they mean.

                      However, many weather related issues like this actually come early, due to outside influence (IE, a remorseless, resource-guzzling being spanning the globe / man).

                          Um.....the Canary Islands are part of Spain. They are in the Atlantic Ocean. California might get rain.

                                                      I see someone's been watching The Discovery Channel. ;-)

                                                      An similar disaster waiting to happen is the Mega-Volcano which is under YellowStone Nat'l Forest, and is supposed to be due (in geographic time anyway) for an eruption so big it'll wipe out the CENTRAL part of the country. the map on TV showed basicaly nothing but east coast and some of California left
