Paintings My Uncle Did

My uncle likes to paint oil paintings of photographs, so he took two photos I took in Italy in the summer of 2002 and painted them. They are of the town of Vernazza in Cinque Terra.









I think the first one came out amazing, the view from the mountain came out pretty good but not as good as the little piazza with the fishing boats.

Your family is very talented. I really like this picture. The Second painting seems to have more color, having a variety and your eyes tend to 'Train up the hills', making it more pleasable to the eyes. Though the perspective is off, it's still a nice painting.

I actually like the semi-distorted perspective of the second one. It almost gives it a childrens book illustration type feel. And he did a good job keeping the colors interesting and the lighting dramatic.

The first one is also quite nice. Love the bright colors, and just the overall setting.

He's talented.
