Damnit I know there are more DC/Baltimore area AOers that are saddened by this.

Worthless online petition (yes, I still signed it).

OMG!!! they did it to you too!!!!

they did that to us in houston! they have almost identical logos too!! mexican rap that replaced nice classic rock, which was also around for 34 years!!!

clear channel should burn in hell!! they said they were catering to an "unserved market" now, i'm not too good on marketing lingo, but if there are 15 other spanish stations in the same city, wouldnt that be an overserved market? I mean now there is only some lame alternative station that re-treads nirvana every 15 minutes. I mean i liked them in the 90's, but come on, i've heard smells like teen spirit about a billion times too many!

Thank god i got sirius when this happened!!

man, all three of those stations are so lame

I sympathize, Chicago had a great rock station flip formats a few years back, but at least this flip made some sense, as there's actually a market for that format.

When 103.5 here flipped, though, it went Motown. Lasted four months, and they've flipped two or three times since.

Well HFS was actually under Infitnity's umbrella, but I agree, I've got my problems with both of them.

And, as crappy as it is, the Spanish rap WILL score better ratings in this area. There apparently isn't a single DC latino station, and, well, now there is. In an area that's getting more and more of Mexico's runaways.

                that sucks man.

clear channel moved in to the grand rapids area and brought back the fox 101.3 it was gone for awhile and it used to be a country station. the fox plays good music and has fox fest, a free classic rock concert with a bunch of bands.

                  Bay Area as well

I was actually listening to KSJO with some buddies when it dropped out.

Literally right in the middle of a song, three-four secs of static, then latino music.

KSJO had a 30 year history here in the Bay

However, the truth of the matter is that these stations are being swapped to provide programming for the marketplace. America has a rapidly expanding Latino population.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

The best flip I've seen in NY was about 10 years ago.

We had 104.3, which was the hard rock station. And we had 92.3, which was the classic rock station.

All of a sudden, 104.3 was the classic rock station, and 92.3 became the hard rock station.

It made no sense, they just replaced each other. I never quite understood the move. I don't think they are owned by the same company, either (although I may be wrong).

This friggin blows man. I keep putting it on 99.1 expecting to hear the Junkies and I get someone speaking in spanish. Not that I have anything against a spanish radio station, but not my HFS!!

yea i hated when they did that to KSJO , know i have to listen to the rock which is nowhere as good. Also was replaced by a latin station ( ...i am hispanic , but i still rahter have KSJO).

it was a clear channel station.
