Why do I doubt bolt cutters would get you into a tank. I bet that lock is a little beafer than your standard masterlock.

        1. Jungle Island in Lake Elsinore, CA has one of those. It is a kick in the pants to drive. We use it during the scenarios there. It is street legal, but the owner did get pulled over once. Funny story.

        2. The San Diego tank thing. 1995. It was a former army guy who stole the tank from a reservist depot. The police officer (Paxton) as I recall was in the military and knew how to open the hatch. No bolt cutters were involved. The suspect was drunk and had mental problems. Not usually a good combination.

He knew how to operate the hatch, sure.
I'm pretty damn sure their is absolutly positivly no way to open that hatch short of blowing it up or a lot of time with a torch when it is properly locked from inside. Imagine one guy with a knife taking out a 30 million dollar tank.

Did any of you by chance happen to see or hear about the "Bulldozer Massacre" in Granby Colorado...

            Hilarious!

Some guy who owned a business in the mountain town of Granby tried to get some zoning permit or something like that and the city council refused it so he went out of business. Then he gets ahold of a bulldozer and completely armor plates the thing with concrete sandwiched between plates of steel and mounts a .50 cal machine gun on the ripper in the back. My neighbor got to see the actual bulldozer and said it was awesome. All the armored plate was welded at 30 degree angles so all the bullets would glance off of it and he had video cameras and monitors in the cab so he could see. Also he rigged up the exhaust stack so that it was a "dummy" stack and had a false bottom in it so when the police officers tried to drop a grenade down it it didn't do squat. I guess when it was rock and roll time he just hopped in the cab, welded himself in and drove through the wall of his shop dragging his welding leads!!!

It was because the city allowed zoneing which let a cement factory completly surround his muffler shop. This would put him out of buisness and most likely the whole thing was corrupt.
I don't think he had much in the way of steel plating, I think it was just concreate and he used a hoise of some sort to lower the shell down onto the buldozer once he got inside.
Their was no .50 cal machine gun.

I think he actually went out of his way not to destory peoples buildings and livlyhoods. He was pissed at the town for destorying his buisness and livlyhood, and he attacked the cement factory which they allowed to ruin his buisness as well as government buildings.

Pickle I do think it's quite funny because he didn't destroy anything that wasn't connected to the concrete plant or the people involved in city council. Basically he just gave them a taste of their own medecine in a big way.

There was definately LOTS and LOTS of steel plating... you can even tell it's covered in steel in the few online pictures of the beast...

I take it back, it wasn't a .50 cal machine gun, but a .50 cal rifle mounted on the back of the bulldozer. At one point in time he even fired shots into a group of propane tanks to try and get them to explode.

Copied directly from THISHERE is another good read on it.

did anyone else watch the "world's most dangerous police videos"(or whatever it's called)
when someone stole a tank from some place in San Diego(yea, it's been a while since i've seen it.)

he drove through RV's like they weren't even there
he eventually got hung up on a center divider of a highway

                        the police then shot him......dead

                        coolest thing i've ever seen
Dude that was so cool. I used to live 30min- an hr away from san diego when that happend. I still dont know how he managed to get that tank outta there tho.
