Cartmen: You are absolutey correct, we dont want CKY to stay underground we want them to go mainstream, you cant change the crap music on the radio while trying to stay low on publicity and on a small time record company. Its not how popluar or how rich these band/singers that I talk so negative about (ex: simple plan, GC, puddle of mudd, ashley simpson) its the music that they make.

HA! I was totally at both of those shows.

I was REALLY into cky a while ago, but i just got bored of them. Im really hopeful for the new album, i think it will be pretty good, but then again, i could see it being really bad. The way it changed from VOL. 1 to IDR was huge. The production level went up, and the music seemed to get a bit...different, i guess, i dont know. But, hopefully the new album will rule, we shall see...

One thing i am truly amazed by, is how i have seen numerous pictures of people with CKY tattoos. Im sorry, but that is just dumb.

Also, magsrus: I want cky to stay "underground", or whatever you kids are callin it these days. I dont want them to get signed to a big(ger) label. Im sorry, i just HATE island records. If they get signed to a super duper major label, that means bigger venues, less creative control, and overall douchery. If/when cky comes back to seattle, if they dont play graceland(now known as el corazon) i know they are gonna play the paramount or (god forbid) The Premier, which happens to be the worst WA club, i hate that place, with all my heart. I want them to stay where they are at, because if they play bigger venues, its less intimate and just not as cool.

oh well, im done typing, and done ranting. Sorry. haha

You're too late man. Island is a "super duper major label" and they're distributed by Universal. It just don't get any more "super duper major" than that.

We are the Universal collective. Your artist & repertoire will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

I couldn't agree with you more man. Big labels are what ruins music and just stifles creativity. That's why in a way I wouldn't want to work for a large game studio since you as an individual artist don't really have much input input. It's all what the suits want and what will sell, which in these days pretty much sucks. And yeah, I would never want to see a band like Cky at the Paramount. The showbox would even be a stretch. Big labels make music just what they want it to be BIG, and some music isn't meant to be played on a huge venue. Look at how big the Shins have gotten. I know I wouldn't want to see them at a huge venue, that music is meant to be intiment, not played to 20,000 plus people. Some of the best shows I've seen have been at the smallest places with only 50-100 people.

Bands have to make a living so played at bigger venues pays their bills
