His street levitation just scares the bejeezus outta me!
Otherwise he is incredible, mostly because he performs right there in front of you, not on a stage far away.
More than a few times I thought I had it figured out, then he comes out of left field with the end of the trick, just superb mind gaming.

I figured everything out except when he threw the cards at the window and one card stuck on the inside, the cigarette through the quarter, and the disappearing quarter on the kids hand.Comment

I rank him with probably one of the greatest magistans of all time!! I mean its just creep what he does - its right there - no stage - no props - so set up environment.
Ever see the when he removes and reattaches a chicken head? The levitation is good too.
Even the simple card and coin tricks - its just a different level - I would LOVE to see him live.

I could tell you the trick to nearly every one of his "miracles".. heh
My brother is into magic, and I have seen most of his tricks explained and performed. The levitation can be learned with about 20 minutes practice or so.
... David Blaine DOES use props in some of his tricks as well. Take that has a tip when guessing how he performs some of his illusions.Comment

I watched his "street magic" special he did in New York lastnite. I must have seen the same special at least half a dozen times and everytime it amazes me more and more, I get goosebumps just watching him preform. I mean sure, they are just "tricks"(in esence) but the way he presents himself and the tricks is what makes David Blaine David Blaine(plus the fact that he's right there, 2 feet away from you, right in your face. You could reach out and touch him if you wanted, no stages or flashy pyro etc..) Just looking at the guy gives ya the creeps. I'll admit to knowing how to do maybe a handful of his tricks just by searching the net( card trick sites etc.) but let me tell you, to be able to do what he does and the way in which he does is just "special". He could take the simplist card trick known to man and do it so well you'd wet your pants with amazement right in front of him. I'd love to see him in person too Webmaster. Most of the time he approaches the people out of the blue to do tricks for them but I'd run up to him and 'force' him to do some tricks for me, OR ELSE

yeah I was watching that last night and I remembered my friend told me how to do the levitation thing. It's not that hard to do, but I dont know how David Blane got so far off the ground. There's no way he could be doing it the way my friend told me because that way you can only get off like 4-5 inches but he was like a foot in the air!! The thing where he would make people think of cards and then tell them the card they're thinking of just creeps me out.Comment

I tried figuring how to do the levitation trick but I can only get a couple inches off the ground before it is spotted.

The special last night showed David Blaine doing the levitation trick a number of times. They never showed him from the front, but there were a few times where the camera did a head to toe shot, or panned from head to toe. I thought I had it figured out as well, but the camera shot debunked that theory.
