    Thats because people know they have a far better chance of doing life in prison, than getting the chair. A few hundred public exocution would do the trick.

      I totally agree with Rooster.

      Bring back the fear and it will most certainly become a deterrant.

      I say, take it one step further.

      Castrate convicted child molesters and rapists and other sex offenders.

      Not sure what to do about drunken drivers. Cut off their hands I guess as they could still operate the pedals with stumps.

      Bring back the gore and physical disfigurement and I'm pretty willing to be there will be a significant drop in violent crime.
      Return to the free market. Get rid of all government regulations and let society make it's own decisions. Time and again the relaxing of government regulations has increased profits, innovation and the economy.
