The company "Apple" is the devil.

An iPod can hold about 10,000 songs.

The average song is about 4 minutes long.

That means an iPod can hold 40,000 minutes of music.

40,000 divided by 60 (minutes in an hour, duh) is about 666 hours.

An iPod can hold about 666 hours of music.

iPods are made by the devil.

    Apple is the Devil.

I'm sure 50327425 people already knew this but I just happened to be doing the math and found out.

They're the best way to carry a crapload of music. Don't tell me about the DellDJ or the Archos Crapbox or any of the other things. They can all hold music.. yay! The thing the iPod has over ALL of the other solutions is being stupidly easy to use. I don't care if you "get used to" the Rio thing, it's still more involved. iPod does it best, and I don't care how many stupid kids get them to look cool.

Screw status symbols, I like it because I have music as I'm walking from class to class, or studying in the library, or wating for a tutee to show up....

What's wrong with having music at your fingertips?

                    nothing, of course not.

but when you buy something that holds 10k songs and you end up putting in a few hundred to even a thousand or two, i dont see any point to that personally

yup i have one but the 10,000 thing you dont get

                      on my box it says

up the 10,000 songs taht are 4 minutes per song THAT IS SAVED AS A 128-KBPS ACC FORMAT/ENCODING!

it also depends on how you save it and what the quality of the song is and the formatt you saved it as.

thats why sony says that you can have like 25,000 songs on a 20 gig but you have to save the songs to a 42 kbps thing to do that

and if you do that the music dosent sound like it did with the cd

when you are listening to a cd its at 1411 kbps

the max you can save it as on an ipod is 320 kbps witch what i did

i have 1560 and thats 3 days 21 hours 34minets and 52 seconds and it is taking up 12.22 gigs. if i took all of thouse songs and saved them to 128 kbps there the toltal amount of gigs taken up is less.

thats how everything is smaller now like mini disc players wich i used befor getting an ipod

also and other thing to add

                          a 80 min cd holds 700 MB

theres 1000 mb in a gig

soo if you want an experiment

take one cd and save it twice to your comp one at 320 kbps at the choosen format

then the same one again as the same format but saving it at 128 kbps

the 128 one that you saved to the cd will have more room to store things on it.

not much depending on the the difference in quality but theres a difference!!

also i got one to because of the fast transfering time and being able to make play lists then suffle though songs!!! cuse i love lots of music and somtimes i cant decide on witch to listen to

I have a $50 128mb mp3 player that I couldn't be happier with. It's about the size of a pack of gum and if I break it from falling off my bike then it's not a paycheck down the drain. If I had an Ipod, I wouldn't use it, too big and heavy
