    Anyone know anything about keyboards??

    The musical kind that is.

Here's the deal. My parents forced me to take piano. I had to do it for like 10 years. Every school day for 10 years I practiced an hour a day. I hated it, until the last year when I started playin music I knew. Then my parents said I could quit, so I did cus if I didn't then they wouldn't let me till I moved out.

But I find myself wanting to play some music now. The problem is I have nothing to play on or practice on.

So what do you know about keyboards?

I have no interest in mixing things or different instruments. I just want something with keys that feel like a piano. The more the better. And a headphone jack cus I don't want to wake anyone up or bother people. My playing is gonna be a little rough at first

Good luck finding a keyboard that feels like a piano. They are all switches not levers so you get to be able to play with a softer touch where as a piano you choose how hard to hit the key....with the pedals to shape the sound. Software can replicate some or most of this sound wise but only a piano will feel like a piano. The cost of a keyboard that comes close to this will probably cost more than an upright regular piano if it even exists and if it does I would expect it to be a high end professional unit.

I'm in a similar conundrum. The baby grand is at my parents, and I've been looking at electronic keyboards. Even the ones with weighted keys and all - they feel like toys... I haven't had the chance to try an uber-expensive keyboard yet. They just can't simulate the feel of hammers. But regardless, it's more of an annoyance than anything. For about $1200, you can get a weighted one that feels tolerable. There are several advantages to an electronic keyboard - like playing duets with yourself! And... headphones...

The new keyboards sound awesome now. This one is only like $645. Check out the RealPlayer clips.

Way more expensive one, with good clips - I think it's pretty amazing:

Yikes Miscue. I was looking for something more in the $400 or lower range.
